7 tips to get the most out of 1:1 discussion with your managers

Continuous feedback and 1:1s are fundamental building blocks of effective performance and personal development. Often, an effective 1 on 1 meeting can seem like an albino peacock at some companies: rarely seen, but potentially awesome. However, that is not how 1:1 should be. It should happen frequently, it can be informal, spur of the moment, and food for thought that will help everyone grow.  

1-on-1 discussion also an opportunity for you and your manager to strengthen the working relationship and get out of the day-to-day task grind. Even though the final responsibility falls on your manager to make these meetings great, there are many things you can do to improve your own 1:1.
